Support Navigator

Isabelle Tanner

The role of the Support Navigator is to assist CUPW and UPCE-PSAC members of the Special Needs and the Moving on Projects in finding disability services and resources to help meet their children's needs.

Our Support Navigator, Isabelle Tanner, is fluent in both English and French and is available to help CUPW and UPCE-PSAC members across Canada with researching services and programs and finding the information they need. Members can reach out to Isabelle by phone or email. Isabelle is based out of the Special Needs and Moving On Projects office in Baddeck, Nova Scotia.

To date, Isabelle has been able to provide information about programs and financial assistance for various disabilities, speech therapists, behavioural therapists, tutoring agencies, recreational activities and day/summer camps, activities for families, and respite for parents.

Across the country, the 211.ca website is available to the public to find resources that they need on a myriad of topics. SNP and MO project members can ask the Support Navigator for assistance on how to use the 211.ca website.

Another tool at members disposal is the CUPW Disability Supports portal at https://www.disability-supports.ca. Development of the portal is ongoing. If you are having issues with the portal, please inform the Support Navigator.
