who have children with special needs

Welcome to Special Needs and Moving On Projects!

Special Needs & Moving On projectsThe Special Needs and Moving On Projects provide resources and support for workers at the post office whose children have disabilities. The projects are available to members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and the Union of Postal Communications Employees (Public Service Alliance of Canada). The Special Needs Project is geared to families with young children; the Moving On Project is for adult sons and daughters with special needs. Developmental Services Ontario

DSO-Toronto-EN-wtag-RGBOntario’s new single window to developmental services and supports for adults with developmental disabilities officially opened its doors in nine regions across the province on July 4, 2011.

Adults with developmental disabilities who are eligible for service are being assessed in a consistent way. It is easy and it is fair.

Developmental Services Ontario:

  • provides information to individuals and families about community programs and resources
  • confirms eligibility for services and supports
  • determines service and support needs
  • links people to services and supports, and
  • will administer direct funding agreements in the future.
