Special Needs & Moving On projectsThe Special Needs and Moving On Projects provide resources and support for workers at the post office whose children have disabilities. The projects are available to members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and the Union of Postal Communications Employees (Public Service Alliance of Canada). The Special Needs Project is geared to families with young children; the Moving On Project is for adult sons and daughters with special needs. gbcciRaising a child or youth with special needs brings joys and challenges. In order to assist and support families and children and youth with special needs from birth up to age 19, the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) are working together to offer a range of services.

These services are provided through various organizations, including MCFD and CLBC offices, health authorities, contracted agencies and other ministries.

Community Living British Columbia (CLBC): Delivers services and supports (previously known as Community Living Services) for children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities, children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and children assessed as eligible for the At Home Program (severe disabilities).
